“I challenged my coworkers to help me with the significant task of modernising guitars whose origin go back to the 1930s (and earlier).”, said Chris Martin. “As you might imagine, the discussions were quite animated. Fortunately, we all knew we were working toward a common goal; how can we modernise traditional Martin Guitar models while continuing to honour our rich history and heritage? Well, together we met that challenge head on and the results far exceeded my expectations.”

The changes are very subtle but add character to an already classy guitar: the clear coat finish has a tinted toner to give a more aged appearance; the headstock bears an older-style logo & open gear tuners; the body has aged binding and the neck is a modern carve for a more comfortable feel. All of these little changes accumulate to give the Reimagined Series a fresh, refined look that is entirely in keeping with Martin & Co’s rich heritage.

The 000 size is otherwise known as the Auditorium size and sits between the 00 and the OM or orchestral size. It has a slightly narrow waist. It’s a size that suits most players because it’s smaller than a dreadnought but still projects and has a full tone.

This 000-28 takes advantage of the classic Spruce & Rosewood combination to make a sound that keeps plenty of low end but focuses more on upper frequencies. This is a wonderful fingerpicking companion.

Lovely extra details include a Herringbone trim next to the binding and small diamond inlays in the Ebony fingerboard.
