Martin 000-18 – Refreshed Standard Series

The Martin 000-18 is an iconic acoustic guitar, trusted by generations of players for its balanced tone, exceptional projection and legendary craftsmanship. Its comfortable 000 Auditorium body delivers a rich, even voice with excellent balance across all six strings, making it equally suited to intricate fingerstyle playing, flatpicking and full-bodied strumming.

The refreshed Standard Series 000-18 combines the traditional 18-style recipe of a solid Sitka spruce top with solid mahogany back and sides, with Martin's updated Golden Era (GE) bracing. The GE scalloped X-bracing is inspired by Martin's vintage instruments and the company's Modern Deluxe Series, helping to produce a more open, responsive and breathy character, with enhanced sustain while retaining the punchy midrange and clear treble response associated with the 000-18.

The 24.9" short scale and GE Modified Low Oval neck with High-Performance Taper provide a comfortable, fast-playing feel. For 2025, Martin has further refined the neck and fingerboard, incorporating a thinner fingerboard with a gently bevelled comfort edge, refined nut spacing, an angled nut cut and a more vintage-inspired neck transition and heel.

The guitar features an ebony fingerboard and ebony GE Modern Belly bridge, with the latter incorporating smoother, more comfortable corners. The bridge uses a compensated bone saddle and 2 5/32" string spacing, while the current 000-18 is fitted with ebony bridge pins.

Visually, the 000-18 retains the understated elegance of Martin's traditional Style 18, including a solid Sitka spruce top with Aging Toner, black binding, Old Style 18 multi-stripe rosette and faux-tortoiseshell pickguard. The headstock features an East Indian rosewood headplate with Martin's Script Old Style overlay logo, complemented by nickel open-gear Butterbean tuners.

The neck has a satin finish and the body and sides are finished in gloss, with the mahogany back and sides presented in a dark mahogany colour. The instrument is Pleked by Martin for precision setup and is supplied with a hardshell case.
