Returns & Exchanges
In-Store Purchases
Products purchased in-store are not covered by the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
Unless an item is faulty, not as described, or otherwise subject to your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, purchases made in-store are eligible for exchange only and are not eligible for a refund.
Any exchange is offered at the discretion of The Guitar Store Southampton and is subject to the conditions below.
Online Orders – Cancellation & Returns
If you purchase goods online, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
You must notify us of your intention to cancel within this period. Once cancelled, you have a further 14 days to return the goods.
Unless the goods are faulty, damaged or supplied incorrectly, customers are responsible for the cost of returning items and for ensuring they are packaged securely and returned safely.
We recommend using a tracked and insured delivery service where appropriate, as returned goods remain the customer's responsibility until received by us.
Refunds will be processed once returned goods have been received and inspected.
Any reduction in value resulting from handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods may be deducted from the refund, as permitted by law.
If an item is returned damaged due to inadequate packaging, we reserve the right to reduce the refund to reflect any loss in value or refuse the return where appropriate.
Product Condition for Returns & Exchanges
Where an item is returned because the customer has changed their mind, it must be returned in its original condition, complete with all original packaging, accessories, manuals and protective wrapping where applicable.
Removal of protective cellophane, security seals or other tamper-evident packaging, or use of the product beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect it, may result in:
- An exchange being refused (for in-store purchases).
- A deduction from any refund for loss in value (for online purchases).
- A reasonable restocking charge where the item can no longer be sold as new.
This does not affect your statutory rights where goods are faulty or not as described.
