DETAILS
Here we have a stunning and rare piece of Martin's History - A D-28 from 1973.
Martin's flagship model has never sounded so good; this guitar has a beautifully matured tone from a now aged spruce top and rosewood back and sides - with all the punch of a boomy dreadnought. There's a common phrase with Martin guitars which is "The day you buy a Martin is the worst it will sound". Well this one has had 49 years to mature, and the moment you strum your first chord on it - you can hear & feel the difference.
This guitar is in good condition especially considering its age, it has minor wear and lacquer crazing mainly on the top of the body. There is some patina on the back of the neck where the thumb would hold.
It is all original including the machine heads and hard shell case. Frets are in good condition, small amounts fret wear but nothing serious and is currently set up with a medium action. A second strap button has been fitted to the under-side of the neck (a very common modification).
It is a 'players condition' piece.
