Original 1972 Gibson Les Paul Custom in classic black finish with gold hardware. All original including the case, with original frets and nibs. Ebony fretboard with block inlays. Original gold waffle back tuners that have never been off. Gibson embossed pickup covers (only supplied for 12-18 months) and original nylon bridge saddles (exclusive to 1972 LP’s). Original patent sticker T Top pickups deliver that classic vintage Les Paul Custom tone: tons of sustain, plenty of bite from the bridge and lots of warmth from the neck. Very resonant guitar with a good low action.

General playwear and patina, as to be expected from a 50+ year old guitar. Used but not abused. Frets are a tad on the low side (this was a fretless wonder era Les Paul) but are even and perfectly playable. There are 2 small patches of wear on the back of the neck where something was likely left in the case (probably a cable) and has affected the finish, but its smooth and does not hinder playing. The guitar is structurally sound with no breaks or repairs. The binding has yellowed beautifully as is common on customs and there's the usual wear to the gold plating on the hardware. It has pat number pickups and the pots date to the 51st week of 72.
