Gibson '61 Reissue SG Heritage Cherry Electric Guitar

This is a big upgrade from the SG Standard, with period-correct features such as a slightly larger headstock, teardrop pickguard, slimmer neck construction and '57 classic pickups. It's got a much warmer tone to it than the regular SGs, which can be a bit brittle at times, and overall has a nicer feel to it - they've upgraded the wood on this one too, you can really feel and hear the difference between the two straight away.  The '61 also features a much slimmer neck profile than the often chunky feeling SG standard neck.  As you can see from the pics, this one has a very nice tint to the finish, a lot closer the the Custom Shop's 'Antique Red' than the Heritage Cherry you usually see on these '61 Reissues - this one is a real beaut!
